Hello Guys,
Good day.
Our customers TMP117EVM stops reading temperature even though the green light is on and the browser GUI, and logs, show that the hardware is connected. He's using a Mac and Chrome, all software and firmware is up to date. He's testing straight out of the box, and have not made any changes, and have NOT separated at the perforation. The sensor stops reading temperature at random times and never resumes. It happens when he do absolutely nothing, just connect and let it run. It _also_ happens when he take an action through the UI. The other scenario is that after a while it just disconnects for no reason. See attached screenshot.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Art,
Are you using the software at the 'Download' link, or the 'Start Evaluation' link?
If the answer is 'Start Evaluation', are you using 1.3.0?
thanks,
ren
Hello Ren,
What do you mean by 'Start Evaluation' link? are you referring to the software link from the attached image?
What's the difference between the two?
Thanks,
Art
Hi Art,
The link that you show in your image is the same as the 'Download' link further down the page. This leads to the file snoc039.zip. This file is the same since release of the EVM, and not maintained. It should still work; I simply need to verify which version has the issue for you.
The 'Start Evaluation' button takes you to dev.ti.com, where our apps run in your browser. There are two newer versions available, which I showed in my 2nd screenshot. Either of these versions can be downloaded for offline use if you click the download arrow.
Please let know which version you're using, and, if possible, it would be helpful if you could test other versions for us.
thanks,
ren
Thanks Ren for the confirmation. Where is this 'Start Evaluation' button on the device product page. I apologize I might have overlooked it.
Art
Thanks Ren!
I'll let you know as soon as I have the feedback from the customer.

Art
Hello Josh/Ren,
Good day.
Customer is on a Mac. According to him, as per the documentation, the only option is the browser version, there is no standalone option that he can download and run locally/offline. He is running (and have re-installed - this did not resolve the issue) the ticloudagent. The cloud version he is using is 1.3.0 (this is the URL: dev.ti.com/.../) The Firmware version on the EVM is 2.7.0.16.
Hope this helps.

Hi Art,
Thanks for confirming that the latest version is being used. Could you ask your customer to test v1.3.1? I've deployed an experimental patch that may resolve the issue.

Hi Ren,
Customer is unable to install this software on her MAC.
She tried to install the GUI Composer Runtime on Mac but can't get past this error message: "Error copying file from /private/tmp/bitrock_installer.log to /private/var/folders/4d/xdfmlb610wsgczxl62rrq13r0000gn/T/AppTranslocation/D9BA5FE2-7FAA-4D03-AFA9-9-919C5C32E8D3/d/gcruntime_8.0.0.20210428182634.log:Destination not writeable" The permissions for all the folders in that directly /private/var/... are drwxr-xr-x -
She tried to chmod -R 777 all the folders and got a lot of Operation not permitted and Unable to change messages. It did not change the permission to w for var/... and I still can't install.
Does this installer have known issue with MAC?
Thanks and regards,
Art
Hi Art,
I've reached out to the team responsible for the installer, and waiting for them to reply. I apologize for the delay.
thanks,
ren
Hi Art, Ren,
This is most likely a Mac specific issue related to OS moving files around. There is more information at this link 9.1. Installation — Code Composer Studio 10.3.0 Documentation The command example is for ccstudio installer. In this case the command would need to be run on TMP117 gui installer, which should be "TMP117EVM_GUI-1.3.1.setup-osx_8.0.0.app" file.
