CRITICAL: Missing licence info in ALP download page

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP

Hi,

I'm using ALP v1.57.001 and found that UB953's reg 0x79 / 0x77 not shown as described in SNLA267A Page14.

So I want to upgrade ALP to latest version.

But according to our IT policy, we cannot install / upgrade software which's license / fee is not statemented officially.

But ALP was statemented a free software, and now this info gone.

Then I can't upgrade it according to our IT policy. Our IT team have refused my upgrading requirement!

On ALP page now:

  • Hello Keelung,

It sounds like you need to discuss with your IT team since the issue is related to your company policy, not with the ALP SW itself. I'm not sure what you are looking for from us here.

    Casey

  • Hi Casey,

    This is about Ti.

The free label is removed from ALP download page now. So it's free or not free? Ti should make clear of license/fee of Ti's software.

Anyway license/fee information should be declared clearly.

And let me make it clear: I suggest Ti add the "Free" label back to ALP download page, as Ti do before.

  • Hello Keelung,

ALP is still free. When you click on the link it will let you download the installer without promoting for any payment information

    Best Regards,
    Casey

  • Hi Casey,

This still no declaration about fee / license.

As most softwares, Ti should meke the FEE( 0 or above 0) or LICENSE(GNU, MIT, APACHE...) CLEARLY.

    Shouldn't Ti?

  • Hello Keelung,

Thank you for the feedback but we will not be changing the site structure at this time so I recommend working with your IT to generate an exception if you would like to utilize this SW. You can reference this E2E thread as well for confirmation from TI that the SW is indeed free.

    Best Regards,

    Casey

  • Hi Casey,

Thanks! I'll contact with our IT team.

And, there is no need to change the site structure, no need to change the page structure, just need to insert another <div> as a column in html as the page doing now.

  • Hello Keelung,

Our site follows a unified infrastructure and from the technical product support team side (which supports these forums) we do not control the web formatting for TI.com. We can not make this particular change for you so please work with your IT department to make an exception

    Best Regards,

    Casey
