SN74CBTLV3257: What is the different between TS5V330PWR ?

Part Number: SN74CBTLV3257

Hi Team,

My customer is searching the replace solution for ON semi - FSAV330MTCX,

And based on TI BOM cross recommendation, we found TS5V330PWR cam pin 2 pin / BOM to BOM to replaced it.

But customer also found SN74CBTLV3257 have the same pin out and the true table shown the function is same too,

So my question is what is the main different between SN74CBTLV3257 & TS5V330PWR?

I noted that TS5V330PWR, FSAV330MTCX said it is a Video switch, is that the different point?

What different will be require with a video switch compare to a general switch?

Thanks for your help!

Kai

  • Hi Kai,

There are quite a differences between the parts - they have the same configuration and pinout but a different operational characteristics.

However the largest difference is the supply voltage - the SN74CBTLV3257 cannot operate in the same supply rails that the ON-Semi device can. That is why the TS5V330PWR is the cross. The TMUX1574PWR has the same pinout and package as well and is an "upgraded" version of the SN74CBTLV3257 that can operate in the same recommended supply conditions - but the TS5V330PWR is the correct p2p cross.

  • Hi Parker,

Got it, thanks for your reply.

Beside the supply voltage, I think the main different is TS5V330PWR with Low differential gain and phase make this switch ideal for composite and RGB video applications what mentioned in the datasheet, am I right?
