TMUX1574: Truth Table, Switch Disconnection

Part Number: TMUX1574

Hi Team,

Quick question, in the TMUX1574 truth table, when the EN/ is a value of 1, is the S side completely disconnected from the D side? Or is it possible that if a signal is applied the to D side, it could travel through a body diode to the S side (or visa versa)?

Thank you,

Jared

  • Hi Jared,

When VDD is active and /EN is driven to 1 the switches go Hi-Z.

There is no physical break in the connection so there is some leakage current. The sources of leakage mainly are the ESD diodes of the device and some leakage is due to the FET switch. We measure do measure the DC leakage when /EN is driven high. This is the off leakage which I am showing below:

However there is also the issue of speed of the signal. If the signal is higher frequency it will leak charge through the Source to Drain Capacitance of the switch. We also spec this as off isolation:

These parameters give guidance on how much signal is getting through when /EN is driven high. Its going to depend mainly on temperature and frequency.

If you have any other questions please let me know!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
