SN74LV4051A-Q1: What's the device on resistance when VCC is below 2V? Can it still power up and work?

Part Number: SN74LV4051A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1308-Q1

HI Team,

My customer is asking if our device can still perform when the VCC is at 1.8V supply, though the DS mentioned the supply recommend between 2-5.5V.

The datasheet note mentioned that lower VCC can affect the on resistance, any feedback what's the resistance it can be when supply at 1.8V?

Any estimate range like below 1kohm? Can device still work/

Thanks.

  • Hi Ted,

It is not advised to use our devices outside the recommended operating voltage (2V to 5.5V in this case). We have no parametric data outside of this range so it is not possible for us to supply any kind of data relating to the 1.8V condition.

Will it work at 1.8V? I would say it would probably operate to some degree, but if there are any fluctuations in the supply it could completely turn off the device or switch the logic inadvertently. Hence, why I would not recommend using it at this voltage as there needs to be sufficient margin to avoid such scenarios.

For an alternative, I would recommend looking into the TMUX1308-Q1 as this could meet your application needs instead.

    Thanks!
