Hi Tier,
I am looking for a dual channels 16:1 mux that is similar to DG407DYZ, if possible, we would like to have higher spike voltage than DG407DYZ.
Does TI have a MUX solution as described?
Thank you,
Jason

Hi Jason,
So the DG407 is a 8:1, 2 channel switch and we can recommend the MUX507 to be used for this application.
In addition, we can offer to use two 8:1 switches which can operate at higher voltages. The TMUX6208 (operating voltages up to 36V single supply or +/-18V dual supply) and the TMUX7208 (44V single supply or +/-22V dual supply) would be the two options I would recommend to compete against this part if you need higher voltage ranges.
Thanks!
Bryan
Hi Bryan,
Does TI have a dual 16:1 switch similar to this DG407DYZ? If not, for a single 16:1 similar to DG406, which part would you recommend that can tolerate a higher voltage spike than DG406?
Thank you,
Jason
Hi Jason,
As I previously mentioned, the DG407 is not a dual 16:1 switch. It is a 8:1, 2 channel switch in which our MUX507 would be the correct device to compare with. For the DG406 (16:1, 1 channel device), the MUX506 would be the device I would recommend for this application.
Thanks!
Bryan
Hi Bryan,
Thanks for the recommendation. I am also interested if TI has a solution for dual 16:1 that could help to reduce the unit count on the board. Right now, we use 9 DG407 with 8 phases on one board, if we gonna expand it to 12/16 channels, we have to change them to DG406 and it will double our MUX count to 18 parts per board. I wonder if there are dual 16:1 solution MUX that will help to keep the MUX count to 9 after the expansion.
Thank you,
Jason
Hey Jason,
Understood, thanks for providing these additional details. For that voltage range though, the highest channel count we have available is the 16:1 switch (MUX506). This would be the best we can do for this application.
Thanks!
Bryan
