SN74CBTLV3257: Question about SN74CBTLV3257 SWITCH

Part Number: SN74CBTLV3257
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1574, TMUX1575

I have a question about SN74CBTLV3257 SWITCH

Ask how much speed each interface 1A, 1B1, and 1B2 can support? 10M, 50M, or 100M?

Will it be a problem if we use a 50M CLK connection?

Thank you!

Wade yeh

  • Hey Wade,

The bandwidth on the SN74CBTLV3257 is listed as 200MHz. Interestingly enough, some of these older parts, the bandwidth isn't in the datasheet but rather on the product page. This bandwidth is per channel so the 50MHz clock connection should be fine.

I would also take a look at the TMUX1575 and TMUX1574 which are newer devices with the same configuration. TMUX1574 is a drop in replacement while TMUX1575 is similar to the 1574 but is slightly smaller and is 1.2V logic compatible. Both devices can easily support the clock speed as well (BW ~2GHz)
