# TMUX4157N: Does TI have similar solution like TMUX4157N?

Part Number: TMUX4157N
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A22362, TS5A22364

Hi team,

I found TMUX4157N solution on TI web. but my condition needs to work -3V or -3.5V and current around 0.1A.

Does TI have suitable like these spec? thx

• Hi Jimmy,

So currently we only have the TMUX4157N as a switch with only a negative supply rail- and its maximum VSS is -4V with a minimum of -12V (the switch can pass VSS to GND signals - so if your application can get a supply of -4V signals from 0V to -4V can be passed.

Do you only have the -3V/-3.5V rail available in this application? As we do have a part that with a positive supply voltage it can pass VDD - 5.5V (with min VDD = 2.3V it can pass down to -3.2V - this is the TS5A22362 or the TS5A22364 - they are 2 channel 2:1 switches so there is an extra channel on them but this might be an option depending if -3V can be workable and if a positive supply is available.

• Hi Parker,

Thanks for your reply. I have other positive rails in the system. Do not worry about it.

So if the V is -3.5V rail. Does TI have a suitable solution? Or any discrete circuit can achieve. thx

• Hi Jimmy,

At this time we don't have an IC that can operate at a power rail of -3.5V to -3V - while we do have parts that could pass that voltage as discussed above it require a lower power supply of at least -4V.

With that being said discrete solutions would just be discrete switches wired to allow the passing of negative signals through them. We don't have the type of FET's required to do this discretely at TI (our discrete FETs are power FETs so not great for signal applications) so we don't have any specific discrete solutions to offer, but it is possible.

• Hi Parker,

Could you please share a discrete circuit for me refence? thx

• Hi Jimmy,

I don't have one specific one that I am going to recommend as there are multiple ways to approach the problem and I am not an expert in the nuance of discrete switch design so this task is probably better suited for a designer.  as I mentioned above there is no TI solution that will meet this application need, while discrete solutions are possible - we do not have any one to recommend.
