TMUX6219: Logic level high and low range confirmation

1. When I use tmux6219 chip, I need ± 4.5V power supply. Since the critical value of power supply of this chip has been reached, I want to confirm the range of high and low logic level when ± 4.5V power supply is available? Chapter 6.12 in the datasheet only provides the logic level parameters at ± 5V;

2. If the power supply range can be lower and the function can cover the chip of tmux6219, please help recommend it. Thank you.

3. I can see that there are also Automotive grade chips for tmux6219 , but the temperature range is also - 40 ° ~ 125 °. Is there a similar enhanced chip that can pull the low temperature to - 55 °? If so, please help recommend, thank you.

   

  • ±4.5 V corresponds to a single 9 V supply; this is not yet critical.

    The control inputs work with 1.8 V or higher signals with all supplies.

    For a wider temperature range, use the TS5A3159-EP.

    What voltages do you need to switch?

         1. I need a switching voltage of 1.4V ~ 1.8V,  Is there a more suitable PN to recommend?

          2. TS5A3159-EP is EP PN,if have no EP but have a wider temperature range?

  • The CD74HC4053B allows lower temperatures. It has worse characteristics; you could parallel the three channels to get lower on-resistance with higher capacitance.

  • Hi Rain,

    1) The datasheet actually specifies all the voltage ranges at +/-10% variation. So at the +/-5V rail, those datasheet parameters are valid for +/-4.5V and +/-5.5V as well, which specifies a minimum VIH at 1.3V and a maximum VIL at 0.8V.

    2) +/-4.5V is the lowest dual supply voltage the device can support. For single supply, it can work down to 4.5V (VDD only, VSS would be 0V).

    3) We do have several devices specified down to -55C. The TS5A3159-EP would be a good fit here as long as you have the voltage rail needed to switch 1.4-1.8V signals (in this case, since the TS5A3159 allows rail to rail switching, you would need at least a 1.8V supply).
