SN74CBT16390: Issues with 5V input running at 5V VCC

My apologies, looked too quickly at the device and thought it was part of our CBTLV family (when this device is just CBT). Our CBT family is limited to just 4V when the supply is 5V (so essentially VCC-1V). The chart below gives a good comparison of the V I/O levels for each family of devices.

There will not be any functional issues with setting your input at 5V and will not violate abs max as the inputs would need to be VCC+0.5V to do so. The customer will just need to be OK with the output being at 4V instead of the desired 5V.

Hi Fadi,

1) Unfortunately there is no PSpice model available for this device at the moment. There is an IBIS model available if that would suffice however.

2) For unused analog I/Os, they can be left floating if you like. However, the recommended way to handle floating analog I/Os is to tie them to a resistor to GND to prevent any potential noise coupling to the pins. If you are using this at relatively low frequency, then floating will not be an issue.
