TMUX8212: Multi-channel switching device

Part Number: TMUX8212

Hi Team,

Our customer is looking for a multi-channel switching device (multiplexer) for the application below. According to our customer,

Below is a high-level circuit diagram of my application. I have a test setup with 20+ aluminum electrodes (navy blue rectangles on the schematic). Each electrode will be electrically biased from -50 V to +100 V and collect currents of up to 100 mA.

My goal is to procure a multi-channel switching device that will allow me to connect one picoammeter (shown at the bottom left of the figure) to any one of the 20+ electrodes. Ideally, I would like to command the multi-channel switching unit to switch over to the electrode I wish to electrically bias and current monitor.

It seems that the TMUX8212 fits this application. If not, can you please suggest a suitable device?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hey Danilo,

I don't believe we'll have a solution here with the TMUX8212. My understanding here is that the signals will be from -50V to 100V so we need a device that can support that 150V span. The TMUX8212 can support I/O's from VSS to VDD but the recommended differential between VDD and VSS is 100V, so it wouldn't be enough for the 150V swing required here. The TMUX8212 is currently our highest voltage device so we we'll unfortunately not have a solution here that would allow from swings from -50V to 100V.

    Thanks,
    Rami
