SN74CBT16210C: VCC=3.3V operation

Part Number: SN74CBT16210C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74CB3Q16210

The datasheet mentioned "supply voltage range is -0.5 ~ +7V", is it possible to connect the VCC=3.3?

Rail-to-rail input voltage swing will include 0-5V, and 0-3.3V. What is the ON resistance will be for both Vin?

  • The absolute maximum ratings tell you that the device will not be damaged. To make it work correctly, you have to stay inside the recommended operating conditions, i.e., VCC ≥ 4 V.

Please note that plain CBT switches do not work rail-to-rail. For a 3.3 V supply, use a CBTLV device. When you have signals above VCC, use a CB3Q device like the SN74CB3Q16210.

  • Thanks for the reply. CB3Q only support 64mA per channel, which is not good for my 5V 500mA peak current as I can only have 6 ports available. The good side for CB3Q is Ron=~10 ohms when Vin=5V.
