are GND and DVSS (digtal grounds) are isolated internally inside LM6586 chip?
we have analog and digital signals in our design. Can we use GND as analog ground?
as per our understanding
1. DVSS is a digital ground referred by I2C and control/config signals ( PWDN,ADDR [0].ADDR [1],FLAG, GAIN) and supplied by DVDD
2. GND is the analog ground for VIN and Vout and supplied by VDD. is it correct?
do you have any refernce design which use LM6586 with two grounds?
Hi Manjunatha,
The GND and DVSS may be internally isolated, but from the datasheet, they appear to use the same ground in the application diagram. A benefit of the LMH6586 is that is can use a single 5V supply for both VDD and DVDD so they should be able to share GNDs as well but I believe you are correct that analog ground is the reference for VIN and Vout. DVDD and DVSS are for the I2C logic.
