TMUX1248: type-C CC 2:1 mux

The CC wire carries a constant voltage of at most 5 V. Any 5 V 2:1 mux will work.

The CC pins are used to detect the orientation of the cable since USB C connectors can be inserted multiple ways. They carry a constant 5V so bandwidth isn't as important. Both of your suggested devices will work but the TMUX1248 offers extra features like fail safe logic and 1.8V compatible logic which simplify controlling the mux.

A great option for 2:1 2 channel mux is the TS5A23159 which offers powered off protection to help protect downstream components.

Hi Fred,

Yes, TS5A23159 and  TS5A23157 are pin 2 pin. TS5A23159 has powered off protection, lower RON, and lower current consumption.
