SN74HC4851-Q1: MAST or SPICE model for SN74HC4851QPWRQ1

Part Number: SN74HC4851-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1308-Q1

Lucid Motors is working on building a hardware functional simulation and is asking for MAST or SPICE models for SN74HC4851QPWRQ1.  I don't see any on TI.com, but saw previous E2E post:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/switches-multiplexers-group/switches-multiplexers/f/switches-multiplexers-forum/670539/tina-spice-sn74hc4851-sn74hc4851pwr-simulation-model

Since we don't have PSICE models for Passive switch's, please let me know our recommendations.

  • Hi Bob,

Would the customer be open to using the TMUX1308QPWRQ1 in their project? It is a newer device with expanded features that is a drop replacement for the SN74HC4851QPWRQ1 and it has a PSPICE model available on ti.com.

They could also use the TMUX1308-Q1 model but stick with the SN74HC4851-Q1. The only issue with that method would be that the TMUX1308-Q1 has lower RON so its performance wouldn't be an exact match in their simulations.

We also have a FAQ on missing PSPICE models that can provide more information: [FAQ] What if my analog switch/multiplex is missing a PSPICE model

    Thanks,
    Tyler
