TMUX1219: Can support EMIF?

Part Number: TMUX1219

Hi teams,

I have a customer design in TMS320F28379 and AM243 then they need use EMIF to do the data communicate.

He need a 1port to 2port mux to switch between these two ports and he is not sure if TMUX1219 can support EMIF or not?

And can TMUX1219 support two-way communicate or not (send and receive) ?

If not, is there any suggest part number for him?

  • Hi Len,

We can support the EMIF interface. If you just need a 2:1 multiplexer, the TMUX1219 bandwidth may be a bit low to pass higher frequency signals. Looks like the TMS320F can go up to 200MHz, is that what will be used in this application?

Regardless, I can our TMUX154E which is a 2:1x2 channel multiplexer and has bandwidth of up to 900MHz, but can only support 3.3V. If you need a 5V capable device, you can also look into ourTMUX136 device as well. Note that these are two channel device, but if you only need a single channel, you can just tie the unused inputs to GND through a 50 ohm resistor.

Lastly, if you just need a single channel, 2:1 device, the best we can recommend would be the SN74LVC1G3157. Now, this device can do 5V, but bandwidth is only 370MHz, which may be a bit low for the application. Hence why I am recommending some of our 2:1x2 channel devices as they are much higher speed.

All of these devices are bidirectional as well.

Let me know if you have any more questions on this!

    Thanks!

    Bryan
