TS3A4741: Current increase

Hi Team,

I would like to know if TS3A4741 the supply current increases from less than 1µA to >50µA if VDD 3.3V is used together with 1.8V Logic similar to TMUX112x?

In addition, will TMUX1208 also increase with 1.8 logic?

    Our devices will have varying levels of shoot through current (i.e. supply current increase) when the logic voltage is in between the rails. The further it is from the rails, usually correlates to increased IDD current. Both the TS3A4741 and TMUX1208 will see increases in their IDD in the use case you described, however, the exact amount will vary from device to device/

    Thanks for the response. I have a follow-up question.

    The Application Note scaa126c "1.8-V Logic for Multiplexers and Signal Switches" describes different types of 1.8V logic support, referencing this, would the TS3A27518 behave like Figure 7 from the application note since it has constant logic levels? If not, would it be better to use the TS5A26542 with separate IO supply?

    The TS3A27518 would not support constant logic levels. You can usually tell by the increased IDD that the device has. In this case, the TS3A27518 has very low supply current during normal operating conditions indiciating it does not support constant logic levels (as you saw in the app note, the IDD current would be in the 10's of uA for devices with that feature). 

    The TS5A26542 may have a logic supply pin, however, that device would not support 1.8V logic as it is dependent on the VCC voltage. While you may get decreased power consuption, you would need to adjust your logic levels for compatibility with this device.

    I need to understand what kind of device you are looking for. All of the devices we have looked at are different configurations with many different specifications. Understood on the low supply current requirement and 1.8V logic, but what is the use case and the number of channels and configuration you need? Any other specs that are of concern (low RON, high speed, etc.).
