SN74CBTLV3257: Could the device support 1.8V logic level?

This is an analog switch, so it supports all voltages between 0 V and V_CC at the data I/Os.

If you want to use 1.8 V signals at the control inputs (S/OE), then you must use a device that supports a 1.8 V supply or has 1.8 V compatible control inputs (e.g., TMUX1574/5).

As Clemens mentioned, with a Vcc of 3.3V, voltages between 0V and 3.3V can be passed through any of the I/O pins. This is the rail to rail switching feature.

For clarification, this device is a passive analog multiplexer. It does not drive/redrive the signals, it will steer the signal in the selected path configuration.

The VIH/VIL levels only apply to the Select (S) and Output Enable (/OE) pins.

Hi Jim,

Yes it can pass I2C signals. Since this device is a passive analog multiplexer, it does not care if the signals are analog or digital as long as they are within the datasheet parameters.
