Customer has a question SN74CB3T3306 I want to use OE# to switch SMBUS, can both sides of A and B be +3.3V?

The schematic diagram is as follows: A and B are both +3.3V. The purpose is to use the OE pin to choose whether to conduct or not

If you use this device with both sides at the same voltage, then you should use pull-up resistors on both sides to ensure a proper high-level voltage.

It would be cheaper and easier to use a plain switch like the SN74LVC2G66 or SN74CB3Q3306A.

Hi Gareth,

I agree with Clemens's response here. A simple pull up resistor on both sides will ensure functionality of the circuit.

If you don't need level shifting then a plain analog switch like the SN74LVC2G66 or SN74CB3Q3306A would indeed be easier to work with.
