Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00879, TMUX6236
Hi there,
I am using this switch to sense a voltage drop across a resistor similar to a TI multimeter application (TIDA-00879). My question relates to exceeding the Vnc, Vno and Vcom maximum voltage of VCC + 0.5V.
VCC is 5V in my application and I am expecting common mode voltages of up to 9V for Vnc, Vno and Vcom.
The datasheet states "The input and output voltage ratings may be exceeded if the input and output clamp-current ratings are observed", could you clarify what this actually means? I do not know what the clamp-current rating of this device is.
Would it be somehow possible to pass through these max 9V signals? If not can you suggest an alternative part for this? I could push my VCC to 9V if this helps.
Many thanks
