Please can I be advised on whether the analog signal path (pins NO0, NO1, NO2, COM) is isolated from the digital control pins (pins IN1 and IN2)? If they are isolated is the GND pin then the reference for the analog signal path? Can I connect the device as in the image below?

In addition to what clemens said. Yes the analog pins and digital control pins are isolated from each other. In addition they can share the same ground.
The ground pin is the refernce for the analog on control pins.
Finally, you will need pull up or pull down resistors on the control pins input to determine what state you want the mux to be in by default.
