TMUX4051: Application area

Part Number: TMUX4051
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1209

Hi team,

There are several questions about TMUX4051 and TMUX1209:

1. Can the two chips be used in UART signal when the maximum baud rate is 115200bit/s?

2. What's the meaning of bandwidth in the datasheet?

3. Are the two chips available as long as the frequency of protocol-type signals (SPI, SGPIO, UART, etc.) are within this bandwidth?

Best Regards

Silvia Gao

  • 1. Yes.

    2. It's the analog −3 dB bandwidth. But for 0.1 Mbps signals, the difference does not matter.

    3. For digital signals, the (analog) switch bandwidth should be at least five to ten times higher than the signal frequency.
