TMUX1072: Inquiry Regarding High Voltage Tolerance Mux/Switch for Wireless Power Transmission

I am currently in search of a high voltage tolerance mux or switch for our wireless power transmission system. This component will be connected to a single coil and will alternate between Qi (wireless power transmission) and NFC (communication) modes in a specific sequence. The challenge we face is that the coil voltage can reach up to 15V. I have a few questions regarding this:

  1. Is it possible to utilize the TMUX1072 for our application? It appears that the COM ports are suitable, but I have reservations about the NC and NO ports. The voltage tolerance specifications in the document seem different, even though these ports are physically connected.

  2. If the TMUX1072 is not suitable, would the TMUX6209 be a viable alternative? Our supply voltage typically ranges from 4-5V.

  3. If neither of these options is suitable, could you kindly recommend any other products that would be more appropriate for our specific application?

    The TMUX1072 may work for you here but maybe I need some more information to understand your reservations.
    The TMUX1072 will allow the drain side to reach up to 18V but will isolate the drain from the source so the source won't see the 18V (or 15V in your case). So while you are correct that the NC/NO ports have a different rating than the COM, the NC/NO pins should still have that layer of protection since the signal path will be isolated once the drain input goes above about 5.8V.

    Now do you anticipate that 15V to get to both NC/NO and COM? And can we expect this to be lower current (<50mA)?

    If you don't expect to see 15V on the NC/NO pins and the current is limited to under 50mA then the 1072 should work here for you
