TMUX1208: Similar part with input protection

Part Number: TMUX1208
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1511, TMUX1108

Hello,

I am looking for a device similar to TMUX1208 that can withstand a voltage on the inputs when VDD is not present. Does TI have any parts like that?

Thanks,

Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Which aspects of the TMUX1208 are most important? If having 1.8V logic is a must, then the closest match here is our 4 channel SPST, TMUX1511. If you don't need 1.8V logic there's a bit more flexibility with some of our older devices. Let me know which features of the TMUX1208 are must-haves and I can provide insight into some more alternatives if needed!

    Regards,

    Alex

  • Hi Alex,

We do need 1.8V logic. TMUX1511 looks like a 1:1 switch, while TMUX1108 is an 8:1 mux, so that won't work here. Please let me know if there are other options.

    Thanks,

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Our 8:1 switches with both powered off protection and 1.8V logic support might be a bit more than what you're looking for. Our offerings that contain both these features in that configuration will be our TMUX7348F and TMUX7308F. Even for 4:1 our only option with this feature set is the TMUX7349F. These are higher voltage, feature rich devices so it might be beyond your ideal price point. Would you be willing to design with a 4 channel 2:1 switch? If so, the TMUX1574 would be a good pick here.

    Regards,

    Alex
