TMUX1247: Application

Part Number: TMUX1247

The part number TMUX1247DCKR is specified to support both Analog and Digital signals input and output. The design requirement is to mux two signals; one is Analog and other is digital. Does it mean that it can only support one of the two types of signal at a time or it can support both Analog and Digital signals at the same time?

Also the Vil and Vih levels are specified in the datasheet but the Vol and Voh levels are not specified. These values are important to verify whether this part can be used in my application.

  • A closed switch behaves similar to a resistor; both analog and signals will be passed through.

The I/O channel does not have switching threshold because it is not buffered. (The VIL/VIH specifications are only for the control input.)

  • Hi Rutvik,

Thanks for reaching out for some clarification on this device. Clemens make a good point here. This device (and our other analog switches) can mux between both analog and digital signals - so both are supported at the same time.

For the Vil/Vih specs, these pertain to the control input only, in this case it's the SEL pin. So these levels are used to indicate what threshold needs to be achieved for SEL to be a logic 0 or a logic 1.

    Regards,

    Alex
