TMUX4052: TMUX4052 supply voltage range

Part Number: TMUX4052
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LV4052A

Hi,

Customer raised a question about TMUX4052. We know that you have modified supply range from 3V~12V to 5V~24V. Could you help to check what is the supply voltage with the data code of below chip? Additionally, I would like to know why there was a modification in supply range?

Best regards,

Randy

  • The chip has never changed. The "SCDS445" document was labelled as "Advanced Information".

The minimum supply voltage was increased from 3 V to 5 V. The maximum supply voltage was not changed at all; ±12 V = 24 V. (If you want to use a switch for voltages like  5 V or below, use a low-voltage device like the SN74LV4052A.)

Section 1 of the datasheet shows just some example configurations of the supply voltages. The exact limits are specified in section 7.4.

  • Hi Randy,

Clemens is correct here. The max voltage of the device didn't change - it's still 24V. The original datasheet was advanced information. This has now been changed to production data. Performance isn't optimized for 3V, so if you're needing to use the device with a 3V supply, I recommend going with the SN74LV4052 instead.
