TMUX7612: Availability and SEL Input

Part Number: TMUX7612
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX7212, THP210

Hello,

when will the TMUX7612 be available, please?

I also have some questions about the SEL input. The datasheet says that the SEL inputs have an internal pull-down resistor.

What value does this resistor have and do the switches remain open if the SEL inputs are unconnected or should I use additional external pull-down resistors?

Are the logic levels of the SEL input the same as the ones of the TMUX7212? I'm asking because there are no specifications for the logic levels of the SEL inputs.

That's all for now.

Best regards,

Stephan

  • Hello Stephan,

The device will be released later this year.

I will come back to you on the resistor value and the switches state by EOD tomorrow.

Yes, the logic levels are the same as in the TMUX7212. They are both compatible with 1.8V control inputs.

Also, can you please elaborate on the application you are using, or planning  to use the TMUX7612?

    Thanks,

    Nir

  • Hi Nir,

    thanks for your reply.

We will use the TMUX7612 together with a THP210 in an IEPE sensor application.

The TMUX7612 switches a pair of feedback resistors, the powerdown input of the THP210 and a current source.

There is also another point that came up: according to the datasheet of the TMUX7212 it is recommended to connect the Exposed Pad to VSS while the datasheet of the TMUX7612 recommends to connect the Exposed Pad to GND.

In our case VSS = GND but in the case VSS might be below GND where should I connect the Exposed Pad to when I want to use both chips with the same design?

    Best regards,

    Stephan

  • Hello Stephan,

First, I think you got confused between the two. The TMUX7612 has to be connected to VSS, while the TMUX7212 can be left floating, or tied to ground.

In order to use both chips for the same design, the exposed pad should be connected to VSS.

    Thanks,

    Nir

  • Hello Stephan,

Apologize for the late response regarding the resistor value, it took longer than expected to get it.

The value of the internal pull-down resistor is 5M ohms.

Also yes, the switches will remain open (off) if the SEL inputs are disconnected.

    Thanks,

    Nir
