TMUX646: TMUX646 MIPI switch

Part Number: TMUX646

Hi TI team,

I am planning to use TMUX646 in my new design. I have few queries

1. are clk and data pins are dedicated pins?

2. Can I connect data lane to clock pins in switch and vice versa?

3. TMUX646 is bidirectional switch. So Can I use for below like back to back switch connection

THanks,

Venkatesh

  • Hi Venkatesh,

Thanks for reaching out here! The clock and data pins are not dedicated so you can freely connect data to clock and vice versa as you mentioned without issue. You can refer to section 8.1 of the datasheet to find this info.

I don't see an issue with your configuration due to the bidirectional nature of the switch (and all of our switches).

  • Hi Alex,

Thanks. What is Insertion loss at f=1250MHz and 2500MHz

    Thanks,

    Venkatesh

  • Hi Venkatesh,

The insertion loss across all frequencies for the TMUX646 can be seen in the bandwidth graph in section 6.6 in the datasheet. Insertion loss at f=1250MHz and 2500MHz equates to roughly -1.1dB and -1.8dB respectively. The product page also has an s-parameter model if you would like to use that for your simulations as well.

    Regards,
    Alex
