TMUX646: TMUX646 support for DSI-CSI Loopback

Part Number: TMUX646

Hi Team,

I am trying to use the TMUX switch to do the DSI to CSI loopback through MIPI CSI-2 (D-PHY).

I wanted know whether TMUX handles the frame synchronization packets?

Synchronization Short Packet Data Types
   Data Type Description
   0x00 Frame Start Code
   0x01 Frame End Code
   0x02 Line Start Code
   0x03 Line End Code
   0x04 to 0x07 Reserved

Thanks

  • The TMUX646 is an analog switch that passes through all signals (between 0 and 3.6 V and with a frequency less than 6 GHz).

  • Hi Aswin,

Clemens is spot on here. As long as the signals passed through the device are between 0-3.6V and under 6GHz, you would have no issues. Note that while the TMUX646 can pass these synchronization packets along between devices, it doesn’t process or manage them itself. That would be the responsibility of your MIPI controller or device driver.

    Regards,

    Alex
