TS5A4624: Overshoot detected right after IN pin from low to high

Dear TI experts,

My customer tests TS5A4624 in their own PCB.

And they found overshoot in NO pin right after IN pin is high from low.

Please see the schematic and waveform below.

You can see the red circles in waveform. (NO)_1V8 has overshoot in red circle, and maxmum voltage is about 2.12V.

Is it normal operation? Can I remove (or reduce) by adding some external components?

    Hello Chase,

    Please take a look at this FAQ.( This FAQ has some design suggestions to help your customer)

    Overshoot and undershoot typically occurs because of trace inductance. Typically this is a result in long traces/wires since the inductance will accumulate over these distances, so minimizing this would be beneficial.

     Also many times, testing is done with long probes that adds unwanted inductance, which also wouldn't be there in actual operating conditions. This along with rapid changes in current will cause the overshoot/undershoot.

    Based of your initial setup you have already prevented the output(Vout or yellow line) from seeing the overshoot event  which is good, but if you want to reduce overshoot on the input pins you could add a series resistor to the input pins of the mux. However, the Capacitors to ground are also a good idea.

    Finally the TMUX1237 is another 2:1 1 channel switch that is designed to minimize overshoot events
