TMUX-24PW-EVM: Evaluate TMUX8108 with TMUX-24PW-EVM

Part Number: TMUX-24PW-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX8108

Dear Technical Support Team,

I'm considering implementing and evaluating the TMUX8108PWR on the TMUX-24PW-EVM.

Is it possible to mount it using a soldering iron, and what are the mounting procedures with  and precautions that TI is assuming?

Best Regards,

ttd

  • Hello ttd,

The TMUX8108 is a 16 pin device while the EVM DUT footprint is 24 pins, but it won't be an issue. You can solder the device at the top 16 pins of the DUT footprint.

Yes, the PW package is large enough that using a soldering iron shouldn't be difficult.

When it comes to procedures and precautions, make sure you are not shorting together any pins of the device. Using a thin soldering wire is recommended.

    Thanks,

    Nir
