TS5A3167: why previous output reflects even after changing the control logic to 1

Hi,

I gave +5V to supply pin.

Input of the channel = 5V.

when the control logic Low = 0V, I got 5V at the output of the channel/switch.

But when I changed the control logic to High = 5V, then also I am getting 5V at the output, i.e the previous output remains at the output even after changing the control logic,

whereas i expect high impedance and hence no voltage there, as the switch is open now for logic 1.

My application requirement is,

for Logic 0 : Input of the channel, i.e 0V or 5V or specifically a short to ground.

for Logic 1: Open or High impedance

Please help me out to solve this. or suggest some other Texas IC to meet my requirement.

When the switch is open, there is no connection between the COM and NC pins, but any capacitance on that line will keep the voltage.

There is no such thing as "no voltage". The pin might be floating, but that just means that the voltage is unpredictable.

What is connected to the output? How is the voltage measured? What do you want to happen when the switch is open?

I agree with Clemens comment. I suggest tying a pull up and pull down resistors on the IN pin to guarantee logic behavior.

Thanks for your response.

We measured it using a Multimeter.

Our final application has to feed a control signal to an external drive board enabling/disabling Laser source,

whose requirement is "Ground Short" against One Logic

and "Just Open" against Other Logic.

Right now, we use a jumper to short and open (manual control), which meets the requirement of the drive board.

but we have to make software control, so only i selected this IC to control it through SEL signal.

You can control this signal with an open-drain buffer like the SN74LVC1G07 or a plain transistor.
