TS3L501E: Replacement question

Hi team,

My customer is looking for replacement of PI3L720ZHEX, is this a drop in replacement? I check the pin out is the same, but ti.com is showing similar functionality.

Please kindly share some input, thank you.

    Hi Oliver,

    Looking at these 2 parts they are p2p with each other and should be drop in replacements performance wise in most applications.( These devices are technically Q type but I can explain more.)

    Both of these devices operate a 3V to 3.6V supply and support 10/100/1000 Base-T applications. They have the same pinout and configuration.

    However some specs are slightly different like the competitor device has a bandwidth of 650MHz while our device has 600MHz

    But the TI device has a lower bit to bit skew max of 100ps while the competitor device bit to bit skew goes up to 200ps

    So while our device bandwidth is slightly worse the bit to bit skew for our device is better.( This small tradeoff in specs make them Q type crosses) which mean p2p replacements.

    However I would recommended our part to your customer.
