TS3USB31E as a USB bus isolation switch

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3USB31E

You can use TS3USB31E as a USB bus isolation switch to solve isolation issues and limited bus space problems.

For example, in an application implementing a standby mode, some of the devices in the system might still be powered by leakage currents on a USB bus even though the host processor is shutdown.  Placing a TS3USB31E , which is a bi-directional USB 2.0 two channel (SPST) single-pole single-throw switch, on the USB bus can isolate the device from the host processor to reduce leakage currents on the USB bus seen by the peripheral device.

Also if there are limited USB I/Os on the controller this device can be used to switch USB2.0 signals.

TI offers several other USB switches with 1:2 and 1:3 switching capabilities as well as multi-channel switches
