TS3A4742 I/O voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3A4742

Hi e2e,

The data sheet for the TS3A4742 is unclear regarding the maximum allowable voltage at the IN pins with a single 3.3V supply.  There are three pertinent sections:  “6.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings" (we’re good here), “6.5 Electrical Characteristics (3-V supply)” (good here too), but the 3rd section “6.3 Recommended Operating Conditions” specifies Vin_max of 1.8V, which seems to contradicts section 6.1 and is somewhat unexpected.

Can the digital voltage be driven by 3.3V logic if the Vcc voltage is 3.3V?

Thanks,

DJ

Yes, the digital voltage be driven by 3.3V logic if the Vcc voltage is 3.3V.

I apologize for this datasheet not being clear.  I agree that this is confusing that it puts a max limit in the recommended operating condition less than what it does in the electrical specification table.

This should read in the recommend operating conditions "Vin Digital voltage range 0- Vcc. "

I will begin the datasheet change process right away.  Thank you for pointing this out.
