TS5A26542 91C Ambient Temperature Use Case

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A26542

Hello,

I looked at the datasheet and I haven’t found any information regarding the max junction temperature of the part TS5A26542.  I have only found the maximum package thermal impedance , but I am not sure under what conditions is this package thermal impedance valid. Can I have information on the max junction temperature or some sort of a derating curve for the part?

We intend to use the part in an ambient of 91C with the On state switch current being 13mA max and supply voltage being 5.25V max. Since this device's operating temp can go up to 85oC only, can we can use this part at an ambient temperature of 91C?

Thanks,

Atul

  • Atul,

The TS5A26542 device performance in the datasheet is only guaranteed up to 85 deg C.  We cannot recommend operating the device beyond 85 deg C.

I looked at the TI.com signal switch selection tool filtered for 2-channel, 1:2 SPDT, >5 volt supply, and Temp range -40-125 deg C switches and saw we have two switches that meet those requirements.

I went to the switches and multiplexers e2e forum and searched "TS5A26542 max junction temperature" and found this post below.

    Thank you,

    Adam
