TS3A24159: Use bidirection switcher as I2C switcher issue

Part Number: TS3A24159

Dear expert:

when we use TS3A24159 as I2C switcher for two VGA, we find the the I2C slave have no feedback sometimes, we also try pull up the I2C is no help . but when we bypass the I2C, direct connect to the slave. the issue is gone. could you give some suggestion? thanks.

  • Robin,

When you say sometimes has no feedback does that mean that it works sometimes and not others? When you directly connect to the slave it always works?

Do you have oscilloscope shots of the I2C signals on the COM and NC/NO pins to see if they are being distorted? Can we compare those scope shots with the bypassed signal that is always working? We would expect to see clean clock edges at both the COM and NC/NO pins of the IC. Maybe the parasitic capacitance of the switch is slowing down the clock edges.

Do you have a schematic of this system?

    Thank you,
    Adam
