SN74LV4051A: SN74LV4051A, 4052A, 4053A Questions about IV Characteristic Curves and Output Capacitance at 125C

Part Number: SN74LV4051A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LV4052A, SN74LV4053A

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask SN74LV4051A, SN74LV4052A and SN74LV4053A?

<Question1>
If this device has diode clump inside, do you have follows charactics?
-VF-IF charactics
-IR-VR charactics
If you don't have it, we can accept.

<Question2>
About output capacitance, do you have Electrical Characteristics in case of 125C?
These data are similar to the data in case of 125C, right?

Kind regards

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello Matsumoto-San,

    PART 1:

    These curves currently do not exist since these diodes exist solely for the purposes of providing protection to the device and are outside of our recommended operating specs. However, if you look at the snippet (SN54LV4052A, but it is the same for SN74LV4051A and SN54LV4053A) I have provided, you can note at approximately what voltage these diodes will begin operating:

    Please note the following:

    1. TI does not recommend pushing beyond these ranges and even operating in the absolute MAX range could cause damage to the devices

    2. Like many diodes, the current will grow exponentially, but if you do wish to attempt this, please use a current limiting resistor at the input

    3. Make sure your power supply can both source and sink current as now you will have current pushing back into your power supply.

    Questions:

    1. Could you please provide us with a use case as to why you would like the IV curves so that we may better answer this question for you?

    PART 2:

    We also do not recommend the operating condition past 85C as mentioned in the datasheet(SN54LV4052A, but the recommended ambient temp is the same for SN74LV4051A and SN54LV4053A)(posted below) so we do not have the measurements currently.

    With that being said, if you could provide us with a use case, we can better provide a service to you and your team with regards to the output capacitance at 125C.

    Thank you,

    Louie
