I want to use a single debugger in SWD mode and control upto 8 controllers.

How to achieve this ? Is there any switch to connect to eight controllers and use one at a time like I2C switch

Or Can i use 8 buffers and connect each controller to one buffer output , and enable only one buffer at a given time

please help

Hello Akshay,

What type of signals are they? Push-Pull or Open Drain?

If it is push-pull, which is what I am assuming you are doing if it isn't I2C. Then you can either use a MUX/SWITCH or use buffers that have enables. You will have to analyze the system cost to see which one is most cost effective and still satisfied your system requirements.

I am using a silabs programmer to control eight 8051 controllers with single SWD.

Yes 8 buffers should do my job with enable controls.

Akshay,

You can use the switch search tool on TI.com to look for 8:1 switches using the "configuration filter". Do you think the SN74LV4051A will solve you problem?
