MUX508: max pulse current

Part Number: MUX508

One of my customers is using ADG508AKRZ we want to replace it with MUX508IDR. They have a question concerning the max pulse current – the ADI component specifies a max pulsed current (S or D) of 40mA for 1ms (see below).

Is there a similar pulse current spec for MUX508? In their existing applications they can see peak currents of 38mA for about 10µs which is within the ADG508 abs max ratings. Can we confirm there won’t be any issues with MUX508IDR under same conditions?

  • Hi Shashank,

We will not be able to confirm MUX508 is okay with 40mA pulse current because MUX508 only specifies up to 30mA DC current as abs max.

It will be more reliable if the customer can work around their 10uA 38mA pulse on their system level.
