CD4067B: Output error

Part Number: CD4067B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F6736, MUX506

Hi team,

I am working with CD4067B on a project. I am sending the select signals A,B,C,D and the inhibit signal using msp430f6736. However, I am unable to switch the input lines using the select signals. I get the output from the mux as the input it gets on line 0(pin#9) even when I change the select signals to a different number. Even if I change the inhibit signal to logic 1, the mux selects line 0 and shows me the output as the output that is on line 0.

Here is the circuit that I have connected. The inputs coming to the multiplexer are analog input lines of 0-1V range.

Is there an error in the circuit?

Could you help me out with the issue I am facing?

Thank you,

Keval

  • Keval,

The Vih and Vil control logic thresholds are proportional to VDD.  Since you have VDD at 12V you will need to supply a voltage greater than 7V to the control logic pins Enable, A,B,C,D.

What do you think about using the MUX506 instead?  This device is a 16:1 multiplexer but the logic control pins are not referenced to Vdd and you may use 3.3 V logic to toggle the switch.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi Adam,

Could you suggest me an equivalent IC with the same package but one that'd serve my purpose of driving the select signals through 3-3.3V?

Thank you for the help Adam.
    Appreciate it.
  • Keval,

We don't have an equivalent IC with the same package at this time that'd serve your purpose of driving the select signals through 3-3.3V.

MUX506 is a good option available to today.

    Thank you,
    Adam
