Seasat,
We don't have any simulation models for the TS12A12511. I'm not sure what you mean by simulating peak current. This device can't source or sink current but will simply pass the current through the switch based on the source and load attached to the device. The peak current spec in the datasheet is the maximum amount current that can pass through the switch without damage.
What are you connecting to the switch that you are concerned about peak current?
Thank you,
Adam
dear Adam
CTM concern is that TS12A12511 PIN7 is connected in parallel with a 1~10uf capacitor and then connected in series with 300~500 ohm resistor. After power-on, it will generate inrush current, directly impact PIN2 and PIN7. The maximum current of these two pins is 100mA written in the device datasheet.
CTM use the MOS tube model to do the simulation here. The result is that the inrush current reaches 150mA, which exceeds the device specifications. Since the model of the simulation is not a model of the TS12A12511DCNR, CTM want to see if there is a more accurate way to see if there is any impact current under this condition. Will it cause damage to the device? There is also the fact that the switching current from -2V to -6V is the impact current of the three pins of NC, NO and COM.
Seasat,
We can't recommend operating this device outside of the recommended operating conditions. Greater than 100mA of current on those pins is outside the abs max rating and may cause reliability issues or permanent damage. Also -6V on the signal path is also outside the recommended operating conditions because the voltage is bellow -Vcc.
Thank you,
Adam
