SN74CBT3384A: Vout : (VS > VG -1) : Variation value of -1 V

Part Number: SN74CBT3384A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74CB3Q3384A

Hi,

Since there is no information of VOH, VOL in the data sheet of SN74CBT3384A, we refer to scdd001b.

Application notes (scdd001b) 9-7 (page 355)
It has the following description.

"The transistor clamps the output at ≈1V less than the gate potential, regardless of the level at the input pin."

I have a question.
How much does the potential of about 1V vary? (error)
For example, dropping 0.9V or dropping 1.1V.

best regards

cafain

  • Hi Cafain, The ~1V approximation provided in the scdd001b app-note reflects the NMOS transistor Vt (threshold voltage). The 1V approximation is likely at the higher end already,, but since this is an older device we don't have access to the characterization data to provide the exact range.

How are you planning to use the device & is there a specific tolerance range that your system needs? The sn74cb3q3384a has identical pinout but can support a 5V signal swing with a 3.3V supply.
