Hello Team;

Our Customer pointing out that Outside Dimension of DSBGA are two different size, and would like to confirm these figure are correct or not?
www.ti.com/.../scds187c.pdf

1) On top page, "Device information" Dody side as "DSBGA   1.50 mm x 0.90 mm"
2) On page 28., Dimension are written as following.
    D: Max = 1.418 mm, Min = 1.358 mm
    E: Max = 0.918 mm, Min = 0.858 mm

 The D size on top page is 1.50 mm(Typ), but actual size is smaller than 1.418 mm, even this figure are Maximum" size.

 Customer pointing out that "This is error".

 Can you explain why?

Thanks.

  • Macs,

    For DSBGA packages the actual package dimension vary device to device and are not known until the devices go through the manufacturing flow and a statistically significant sample size is measured. The datasheet releases to the web with an estimate on the front page before the actual dimensions are measured. Once the samples size of devices is measured the more actuate measurements are updated in the package addendum.

    The package addendum page 28 is going to be the most actuate measurement and the page one of the datasheet is the pre manufacturing estimate.

    We will record the need to make this change in our datasheet change backlog.

    Thank you,
    Adam
