SN74CBT3257C: power supply

Part Number: SN74CBT3257C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1574

Team,

The datasheet absolute maximum ratings show Continuous current through VCC or GND terminals at +-100mA.

My customer's 5V supply is only rated for 50mA. It is unclear what could cause 100ma through VCC but they do not want their linear regulator overloaded.

Do you see a problem with using the 50mA supply for the SN74CBT3257CPW?

Thanks

Viktorija

  • Viktorijia,

The datasheet absolute maximum ratings show Continuous current through VCC or GND terminals at +-100mA specifies the amount of current that can flow through the pin before damage will occur.  This will not be power needed to turn on the device.

The power consumption of the device is specified in the recommended operating conditions.  This device will consume <3uA.

Please know we have a new version of this device TMUX1574.

    Thank you,

    Adam
