CD4097B: Input Signal levels for the CD40x7?

Part Number: CD4097B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1108, MUX36S08

Hello,

Can somebody please clarify whether the CD4097/67 work for low amplitude signals input at the S0-S7 terminals? (Say the order of a 50mV)?

The input voltage spec in the datasheet says that all voltages from -0.5 to VDD are seen through. Does this imply that these small signals can also pass through?

Noise tolerance:

I calculated the noise tolerance as sqrt(4 * Kb * T * bandwidth * ON resistance).

First, is this a correct calculation for the input noise tolerance?

This gives me a value in the order of a few tens of nanoVolt, which seems fine. But apart from that, is thereany other design factor that prevents me from using the CD4097 for low signals?

If it does, can somebody please take the pains to explain why?

And also please point me to a more suitable IC for the precision multiplexing?
