SN74LVC1G3157-Q1: Whether this chip can be used in CVBS signal switching applications?

Part Number: SN74LVC1G3157-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A22362, SN74LVC1G3157, TS5A3357

Dear team,

My customer is doing an infotainment project. Noe she has an switch demand support CVBS signal. And I recommend SN74LVC1G3157-Q1 to her. And she wants to know whether this device can be used in CVBS signal switching applications as below?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Sherry,

From what I can tell CVBS is an AC signal with a voltage the goes below ground.  Some people have reported CVBS voltage as -1 V to 1 V or -0.3 V to 0.9V.  The TS5A22362 or some of the TMUX11xx family can support the negative voltage

I typed in CVBS into the switches and multiplexers e2e search bar and found these posts. You can see one post where a customer was successful using the TS5A3357 and one was unsuccessful using the SN74LVC1G3157.

    Thank you,

    Adam
