TS5A26542: what is the recommended operating conditions control logic level shift pin

Part Number: TS5A26542
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1136

E2E,

My customer doesn't have a 1.8V rail for VIO, instead they have a LiMn battery which ranges from 2-3V.

VIO is spec’d in the absolute maximum section as -0.5V to 6.5V so we aren’t concerned about damaging the device. But, VIO isn’t spec’d in the electrical characteristics section for an operating range. The only values we have to go off of are in the Overview section on page 1.

The customer wants to know if they can use the 2-3V battery for VIO, knowing that the VIH and VIL thresholds scale accordingly.

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

THe TS5A26542 has a seperate VIO rail in order to minimize power consumption when operating at a high supply rail (3V or 5V) but only a 1.8V logic signal.

Please see the below image which lists the range for VIO to 1.65V to 1.95V and the appropriate logic thresholds.

How are you using the switch in your system? Having more information can help recommend the best device.

You can look into the TMUX1136 DQA which is also very small and can support the high logic voltages without and additional rail.

I am looking into if the deice can support higher voltages than mentioned to support your needs.
