TS5A23166: TS5A23166 application in SSI/SPI protocol

Part Number: TS5A23166
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1511

Hi,

With reference to the previous question posted on thread with regards to use case of FET based switch. (Thread ID: 723256)

May i know if this device is suitable for SSI/SPI interface too?

Also in my use case i'm using it for SSI loopback between TX & RX. I did read through the other threads (Thread ID: 475121 & 447653) surrounding NO1 leakage & perhaps you can verify on my scopeshot if i've captured leakage on NO1(Marked in Yellow)? I'm toggling between 0V & 2.7V with frequency of 1.5MHz towards COM1 (Marked in Green)

  • Hi Leo,

The scope shot you shared does not look like leakage. Leakage is a DC Characteristic and should have slow ramp. The spikes in the scope shot look more like noise.

Do you have some other switching signal on the board that is adding noise due to coupling?

Can  you have a schematic or a diagram of your use case, that will help us to recommend the best switch for your application.

    Thanks

    Saminah

  • Hi Saminah,

after checking with my client seems like they are using it for SSI signal switching I suspect those to be glitches. I've advised them to either rework design by adding additional pull-down resistors or changing to a newer device such as TMUX1511. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Leo
