SN74LV4052A: Maximum continuous current through internal protection ESD diode when VDD is 0V

Part Number: SN74LV4052A

Hi Team,

May I know the maximum continuous current through internal protection ESD diode when VDD is 0V and input is 3.3V?  Is input clamp current the maximum continuous current?

Because we want to protect SN74LV4052A by using a load resistor on VDD in case VDD is 0V. In the final design, we will use a mux with powered-off protection.

Thanks and Best Regards!

Hao

  • Hi Hao,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The maximum continuous current through the ESD diode when VDD is 0 V and switch input is 3.3 V is indicated in the datasheet by the I/O diode current, IIOK. The maximum rating is 50 mA. The input clamp current, IIK, is the rating for the maximum current pulled from the input pins when the input voltage is less than 0 V.

Keep in mind, these are the Absolute Maximum Ratings. Please see the note below:

I am glad to hear you are going to use a mux with powered-off protection in the final design. Let us know if you need help picking out the best replacement!

    Regards,
